BL465 G1 PCI Bus numbering & Latest Firmware Revision

I have a large number of BL465 G1's with an Emulex HBA card in Mezzanine Slot 1 and a NC373m card in Mezzanine Slot 2.

Recently i updated the Blade firmware from the 2007.11.18 release to the latest 2008.11.06.

In doing so i noticed something very perculiar regrading the PCI bus numbering of the NIC in Mezz 2.

Prior to upgrade the PCI bus numbers for that Mezzanine were

Slot 1:

PciBusNumber=7
PciDeviceNumber=0
PciFunctionNumber=0

Slot 2:

PciBusNumber=8
PciDeviceNumber=0
PciFunctionNumber=0

Post firmware upgrade they have changed to

Slot 1:

PciBusNumber=68
PciDeviceNumber=0
PciFunctionNumber=0

Slot 2:

PciBusNumber=70
PciDeviceNumber=0
PciFunctionNumber=0

I have tested this numerous times to confirm that it changes. In doing so it has screwed our automated build which configured the nics and created the Team based on PCI bus numbering.

The bus numbering on the G1's is now the same as the G5's, whether intentional or not there is nothing in the BIOS readme that mentions this, so be aware if it may affect you.

Sounds like the MPS table mode has changed. You can change this back by going into the ROM Based Setup Utility (F9 during POST) and selecting advanced options. Let us know if that helps. If that is the solution, you can script this setting with the SmartStart Scripting Toolkit.
