BL465c G1 and VirtualConnect

Hello all,

We have a C7000 with older blades (BL465 G1) which have the dual onboard gig NICs (not Flex NIC-capable obviously) with a dual-port NIC mez card (NC360m) and an FC HBA mez card (QLogic QMH2462).  We also have some newer blades (G6) in the mix.

We're looking to fit out the interconnect bays with VirtualConnect modules (both FC & Ethernet) but are concerned about interoperability of these older G1 blades with VirtualConnect .... how will the VirtualConnect deal with these older blades?  I'm hoping that the Ethernet VirtualConnect will simply provide stock 1G ethernet  (without any fancy FlexNIC functionality) and the FC VC will behave as expected ... or will they not work at all?!

All thoughts/insights welcome!

You don't need to worry, the Flex10 VC modules and the older 1/10GB VC modules all work OK with the older blades.    We have G1 blades and although we started with the 1/10GB VC Ethernet modules, we subsequently upgraded to Flex10 without any functionality issues.     (There were however some upgrade issues)
