BL685c Slow rebooting/shutdown

Hi

I have 4 BL685c's all runing win3k3 x64, all sp2 and all running sql2005. 2 of them have 64gig sof ram and take up to 30 mins to shut down, you get the logging off progress bar and then just a grey screen for about 30 mins, until the server power cycles and boots back up. This also happens to the other 2 servers with 32gigs but it only takes 5-10 mins to shut down.

HPs response was ??? and then the suggestion to replace all the NICs in the server with differnt models. All the servers are using psp 8.

Re: BL685c Slow rebooting/shutdown

Lightspeed is a sql backup utility from Quest software. It is compatible with 2003We use it on a number of 2003 SQL servers without any problems.

Re: BL685c Slow rebooting/shutdown

Wondering if this may be an issue with TOE and SP2's scalable networking "features"? You might try making sure all those so called features are disabled. We have been bitten by them several times with SP2 installs.
