Bl460c boot from SAN on Windows 2008

Hello, i'm trying to get Bl460c to boot from an EVA4100 SAN on Windows 2008 but im stuck with some partitions errors (refer to attached screenshots. Any idea why this is so. I'm not sharing this partition with other blades.. Also using MPIO and LUNs are configured appropriately.

Pls help..thx

Does this occur during an RDP scripted install?
AFAIK, for BFS only one path can be present at a time during the WinPE pass (responsible for disk partitioning during 2008 setup) because WinPE is not MP-aware.

Hello.
We've faced the same problem with Bl460c and EVA4000. During first setup sequence Windows 2008 (64-bit) setup program cannot do anything with partitions on the SAN, it fails to create and format them. It seems that disks are mounted as read-only or some other driver exception occurs. We tried to use this driver

but nothing intresting happened.

Any clues how to install it?

as mentioned before, i also saw this issue when more then one path active to the same LUN you are installing the OS on i.e. LUN0.

Make sure there is only one path through which the LUN can be seen by the fibre HBA while installing the OS.

Re: Bl460c boot from SAN on Windows 2008

You are right in some way. The main problem was caused by multipath enviroment. After some search I found this document:

So we updated firmware of our QMH2462 and all seems to work now properly.
