No, only Netware and Windows are supported systems for SmartStart assisted installation.

Re: Blade 45p Smartstart4Linux

When installing Linux, SmartStart is used to set up the pre-boot environment such as setting up the RAID array and then booting the distribution CD and continuing from there. All distributions contain the necessary storage drivers (at minimum levels) so SS's function of easing driver injection isn't really necessary. Assisted installation also is not provided for Linux because it would simply have duplicated the Anaconda or YaST installation and didn't add any value...

Re: Blade 45p Smartstart4Linux

I have problem with SLES10 x64 installation. After hardware initialization SLES installer does not respond on "initializing catalog" screen.

RHEL4 AS update 4 works fine.

Windows 2003 x64 works fine.

What do you recommend?
1. Update firmware
2. Contact Novell

IMHO upgrading firmware is always a good idea. But you can also try http://forums.novell.com/ to ask people.

Re: Blade 45p Smartstart4Linux

If you have BL45p G2, the latest firmware contains the following fix:
"Resolved various USB issues. This includes addressing an issue with Legacy USB hot-plug support which could result in a system lock-up and a warmboot issue seen with SLES 64-bit Linux"
