Blade servers

Hi All,

I have installed the blade servers successfully in the lab.

Is it ok it switch on the servers and check the h/w installed on them..

If so what are the precations I should take.

I haven't connected the EVA controller or the HP StorageWorks M5314C FC Drive Enclosure AD542C.

How can I connect them to it.

Yes.

If so what are the precaution I should take.
Back up the Os with Ignite make_tape_recovery or make_net_recovery

Re: Blade servers

These are brand new servers and I have connected them and not yet powered on... I will have to assign the IP's dhcp--- I do not know how..

Also there are 8 power supplies in the C7000 Ecnlosure with 6 blades in it... but the HP Modular Power Distribution Kit has only 4 power inputs to it... I am confused again...

Re: Blade servers

I guess it's time to study the manuals.

About blades:

About the BL860c:

http://docs.hp.com/en/hw.html#HP%20Integrity%20BL860c%20Server%20Blade

About EVA:

Hope this helps!

Re: Blade servers

Thanks for the inputs Tortson... but what I ment was

The C7000 enclosure has 6 power connections... where as the Modular PDU supplied with this has only 4 female inputs... So I am unable to use the other 2 power cords to connect from PS#5 & PS#6..

Is there anything else that is missing with wat HP has supplied or ... I am not sure

Re: Blade servers

The Model No/Part Number of the PDu is 228481-002 which has only 4 inputs... And I want 6 inputs and The enclosure needs 6 PS as it is fully loaded with 8 Blades

Re: Blade servers

I have one more query...

1. How will I be able to know if HP-UX is loaded into the Blade System..[I am able to access the OA and MP, But when I type MP>CO it hangs..]

2. If OS is not installed how can i install it[What else will i need and when should I connect it]

3.Is there a way to install the OS at Once in all the Blade Servers in One c7K Enclosure.

4.Currently I am using 4 blades with 4 Power Supply's... How can I add the other 4 blades and the other 2 power supplys[As the M PDU has only 4 inputs to it.]
