Blades wont shutdown when connecting to MSA1500 A/A
Hi there.
I have 5 460c blades connected to MSA1500 A/A.
When I connect them to the MSA they wont shut down, they hangs right before the shutdown. Then I have to cold-boot them from the OA. If I disconnect them from the MSA it's ok, or if I disable the HBA it's ok. Same thing on all servers.
Also if I uninstall MPIO and DSM manager it's ok.
Any ideas anyone?
Specs:
Windows server 2003 R2
Blades: 460c with Qlogic HBA's
PSP 7.7
MSA fw: 6.86
MPIO FF and DSM 2.0.

Re: Blades wont shutdown when connecting to MSA1500 A/A
It sounds like you are indeed multi-pathed to the SAN without any multipath software - not good and can cause many issues. Since it's MSA, if you physically diconnect one HBA cable, does it work? If so, multipath is your problem and you really should have MP software installed all the time in a SAN environment.

Re: Blades wont shutdown when connecting to MSA1500 A/A
As I wrote in the spec, I am using MPIO.
The problem is there when the MPIO is installed and at the same time connected to the MSA.
