C7000 - OA script to set blade names?

I have 8 new C7000s to set up, and while I know I can set the server names for each blade via each blade's ILO interface, but 8 * 16 = a *lot* of work!

I've done some experimenting to set simple parameters, which works fine (ie SET TIMEZONE PST8PDT) but what I want to do is something along the lines of SET SERVER NAME 1 myname (this syntax doesn't work - I tried :) )

Is there a way to do this? Even better, is there a reference guide for all off the params that *can* be set via an OA script?

Re: C7000 - OA script to set blade names?

The trick is, that You don't do the settings to OA.

You call a script with tool called hponcfg from OA CLI.

Download here the sample scripts
http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareDescription.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodTypeId=3709945&prodSeriesId=1842750&prodNameId=3288156&swEnvOID=1005&swLang=8&mode=2&taskId=135&swItem=MTX-46af19b041be42cab5709b4ab1

usage from OA CLI(when you have script ready)

HPONCFG [BAY(s)|ALL] script URL (http|ftp|etc)

Ouch ..just noticed that you want to assign names and those unique right =)

Oh well, maybe it's easier to change a new name to script and run it to different bay number than using ILO web page or RBSU
