What do I need to configure or install on the blade for it to show again. (It showed the hostname when they had 11.31 on them)
The GSP ID command shows
Host System Configuration:
Host System Name : Status is not available
Host System Primary OS: Status is not available
Host System Current OS: Status is not available
Host SMH URL : Status is not available

Re: C7000 Onboard Administrator doesn't show hostnames
Looks like all of this is controlled via the System Insight manager, which is loaded separately from the O/S.

Re: C7000 Onboard Administrator doesn't show hostnames
Should I install the latest full SIM package? ...
(I have downloaded it but 600M for some hostnames seems a bit steep)

Re: C7000 Onboard Administrator doesn't show hostnames
I do remember some issues like adding cim user or something for the permission.
Do you have a SIM server installed in the network?

Re: C7000 Onboard Administrator doesn't show hostnames
1. The current firmware levels worked fine when there was factory installed 11.31. on the blade.
2. All the Insight Manager advice relates to a server. I don't have a SIM server. The OA got the hostname from 11.31 without a SIM server.
3. I've now tried installing more than just the agents. However it is away setting up server databases etc. now. (using mxinitconfig) This is much more that I want to have running on this HP-UX server. All I want is the minimum software required (possibly just SIM agents or something else) to populate the OA information.

Re: C7000 Onboard Administrator doesn't show hostnames
Now, you've been asked to install those agents onto the blades, but you say they don't update the enclosure.
a) Is this correct?
b) Have you run snmp discovery of hostnames on the blades?
c) Are the blade hostname entered into the DNS with both ip and hostname records?

Re: C7000 Onboard Administrator doesn't show hostnames
a) Yes. Although I wondered if I needed a later version to be aware of the blade/enclosure HW.
b) No idea what this means.
c) Yes.
The SNMP discovery question sounds like something run from a SIM server. I don't have one.
The one remaining factory installed blade still shows its hostname in the appropriate device bay info. All that was run on that was the set_parm from a default install.
