C7000 and BL460C G1
I need to upgrade the Blade c7000/BL460C Firmware, OA, VC and PSP.
Please help me to get the below informationтАЩs,
1. How to get the blade current firmware version for Linux?
2. How to get the blade current PSP version for for Linux?
3. Do I need to upgrade the ILo for the blade separately?
4. I have downloaded the tar files for PSP and Firmware for Linux servers. What are the steps I need to take to get the upgrade done?
5. I am following the sequence
a. Firmware (1.61)
b. PSP (8.25)
c. OA (2.52)
d. VC (2.12)
Do you think I need to change the sequence?
6. if any step I am missing please let me know.
Thanks in advance.

Re: C7000 and BL460C G1
1. It's Os independent. I recommend you to use Firmware Update CD - http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/DriverDownload.jsp?prodNameId=1844068тМй=en&cc=us&taskId=135&prodTypeId=18964&prodSeriesId=1844067 .
2. http://h18000.www1.hp.com/products/servers/management/psp/
3.It's highly recommended. It you'll use Firmware Update CD it will automatically ask you about it.
4. Read the readme, then run the updates.
5. That's ok.
Philipp.

Re: C7000 and BL460C G1
The installation is quite simple - just run install.sh and choose the components to install.

Re: C7000 and BL460C G1
Upgrade ILo on all blades 1.81
Upgrade OA 2.60
Upgrade blades Blade upgrade tool 1.7 or FW
CD 8.70. Note, there still might be some later FW/BIOS, not in these tools, that you must add to the tools.

Re: C7000 and BL460C G1
I'm just about to do the same.
My IML log says:
Chassis Enclosure Serial Number 0000000000 requires minimum firmware revision 03.10. It is currently 02.04.
So I need to upgrade my C7000 Enclosure. But I have never done this before.
Did you succesfully upgrade without any downtime? and how did you do it.
Currently we have 6 VMware ESX4 BLC460c G1 servers and just acguired 4 new BLC460 G7 (and these need the upgrade to be enabled.)
Hope to get some feedback.

good starting point is reading the docs:

Re: C7000 and BL460C G1
Generally best to open a new thread rather than add to an old one.
The OA can be updated online. You just download the firmware to a server and then use the OA Firmware Update to grab the FW from that location.
It can be disruptive to any ILO sessions and any CD/DVD's mounted to the servers.
