Can an R5500 (AF426AS) UPS auto shut down blade servers?
I bought an HP R5500 (AF426AS) UPS hoping to power-protect my C7000 Enclosure together with my blade servers. I need to know what options to buy and how may I connect the R5500 to the Blade Enclosure in order to have the UPS auto shut down my server in case of power failure?
If the R5500 cannot do the job, would there be any other UPS that can?
I much appreciate your help
Joe

Re: Can an R5500 (AF426AS) UPS auto shut down blade servers?
I'm no expert....
but we have 2 x r5500's and a c7000.
Both ups have the management module installed, then just patch ups to switch or interconnect and install the remote ups agents. Configure ups load segments with server ip's and delay/shutdown times.

Re: Can an R5500 (AF426AS) UPS auto shut down blade servers?
There's no difference between ordinary server and blade from the UPSs point of view. If it has a management card and management agents are properly installed on all servers - the scheme will work.
Here's a manual, it describes your case: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c00065453.pdf
