Can't configure IP address to LOM:1-a and LOM:2-a at the same time
We are using Bl460C and VC Flex10 with the latest firmware installed. On the VC, we configured active-standby mode for VC Flex10 ports. Following our configuration(first time to use VC Flex10) :
LOM:1-a and LOM:2-a are assigned to vnet1. I created vnet1 ,which include Bay1 Port X1 (Active) and Bay2 Port X1 ( Standby )
On BL460C , we installed SuSe 11.0 with SP1. After applying profile, SuSe could know 8 NICs.
As i undstanding, The first NIC (LOM:1-a )and the second NIC belongs (LOM:2-a) to vnet1.
The problems :
If we configure the first NIC with IP address, such as 10.170.7.163. And ping 10.170.7.163, we could get response.
But, after we configured the second NIC with IP address as , such as 10.170.7.165.
We can not ping 10.170.7.163 any more, we could only ping 10.170.7.165 and get response.
In my opinion, 10.170.7.163 and 10.170.7.165 should be reached after configuring two NICs.
Do you know why ? Thank you very much !

Anyway, possibly some sort of routing/gateway issue? What does your routing table look like?

Re: Can't configure IP address to LOM:1-a and LOM:2-a at the same time
My configuration on flex10 :
A: vnet1 bay1 port X1 Active
bay2 port X2 Standby
B: vnet1 mapping to LOM:1-a
LOM:2-a
C: Configure Scenario: "Simple vNet with Active/Standby Uplinks and Optional Link Aggregation 802.3ad(LACP)"
What i want :
1. If bay1 port X1 is down, bay2 port X2 could take traffic
2. On BL460C, we have two ethernet card ( 8 vertual NICs). After giving LOM:1-a ip address (10.170.7.163) and LOM:2-a ip address (10.170.7.165), i want LOM:1-a and LOM:2-a can be reached outside.
By the way, if i give ip address to LOM:1-a(10.170.7.163) and do not give ip address to LOM:2-a, I can ping LOM:1-a outside
if i give ip address to LOM:2-a(10.170.7.163) and do not give ip address to LOM:1-a, I can ping LOM:2-a outside also.
But, if i give ip address to LOM:1-a and LOM:2-a at the same time, i can only ping LOM:2-a and can not ping LOM:1-a
Why?

May also be worth posting the profile.
