Changing DNS-name of Virtual Connect Module

I just tried to change the standard DNS-name of the management port of HP Virtual Connect 1/10Gb VC-Enet Module. The name is now like vcetw284301xx.domain.com.

Does anybody know ???

It's under Enclosure Settings - TCP/IP Settings.

Re: Changing DNS-name of Virtual Connect Module

Under Enclosure Settings - TCP/IP Settings I just find the DNS for the Active and the Standby Onboard Administrator but not for the Virtual Connect Modules

Re: Changing DNS-name of Virtual Connect Module

Check Enclosure settings -> Enclosure Bay IP addressing -> Interconnect bays tab, Domain value

Re: Changing DNS-name of Virtual Connect Module

If you are talking about the hostname part then the answer is, "you can't".

I asked the HP support about this since I wanted to use DHCP+DDNS for all modules but at the same time have readable hostnames (VC-FC doesn't even have a hostname!). Their answer was that it was not possible and the only workaround is to assign static IP's to all bays as well as static DNS entries.
