Comparision->HR DL585 G5 vs BL465 G5 Blades

Comparision->HR DL585 G5 vs BL465 G5 Blades

We run a 3 node active SQL Cluster for our ERP system currently on 3-DL580 G2's. We are going to replace these with the above BL Blades. Would there be much of a performance hit not choosing the 585's? The Blades would be quad core vs the current 580 G2 Quad Procs.

Appreciate feedback

Re: Comparision->HR DL585 G5 vs BL465 G5 Blades

I would expect the performance to be better on these BL465s. Although you are limited to two processor sockets, your supported number of cores actually goes up over the DL585 G2.

You have only 8 memory slots per BL465 compared to 32 for the big box though...

I might consider waiting for the G6 model. There are more memory slots in these. Using BL680s is also an option.

Good luck!
