Connect c7000 with two GBE2c switches to one core switch
hello!
How is it possible to redundantly connect two integrated GBE2c Switches to one Core Switch.
The integrated Servers are all VMware esx 3.5
When i lose one uplink from one GBe2C to the core Switch then the VMs doesnt check this!
The result is that the VMs are not rechable anymore.
The Problem is that VMware esx and the virtual switch don't recognize that the GBE2c has lost the uplink to the core switch!
When i activate the Port 17 and 18 on both GBE2c then i get a loop and the full network is down!
How is it possible to connect one esx Server redundant over two GBE2c to one Core Switch?
Thanks for your help!
Regards
Stefan

Re: Connect c7000 with two GBE2c switches to one core switch
Stefan,
You need to look at Spanning tree.

Set links on 17 & 18 to be a highercost than the uplinks. That way the uplinks are prefered until they are lost.
