After update the Firmware

iLO MP: T.03.12
BMC: 05.36

Re: Device is reporting an internal degraded status (BL860c)

I seem to recall that if one just updates the firmware the one time, that only one of the ROMs gets updated. The idea is that if there is something wrong with that version of the firmware, you can switch back to the old version. If it updated both roms at the same time fall back would not be possible.

Re: Device is reporting an internal degraded status (BL860c)

Hi Mark

Thanks for your reply,
iLo log has 2 critical error:
1. system firmware 0(BOOT_STOP_BOOT_OVERRIDE) "Manual override of stop boot condition"
2. Redundant w/ an E0 code; (SYSTEM_FIRMWARE_ERROR) System firmware error
Warning: System Firmware 0 (EFI_SYSID_INVALID) "The system ID (UUID) currently in the system is invalid"

Insight display say: Device error (Degraded state)

Hi Rick Jones,

I have try to back previous firmware, but I can't go back. All process I have doing through iLo.
If you think the server need to re-install the OS Please tell me. (It's Possible).

Thanks.

Torsten.

Re: Device is reporting an internal degraded status (BL860c)

Please do from EFI:

Shell> sysmode service
Current System Mode: ADMIN

You are now in SERVICE mode.

Shell> sysset

...

Shell> sysmode admin

Post results!

Hope this helps!

Torsten.

It is pretty normal to have different versions in ROM A and B - don't worry.

Hope this helps!

Re: Device is reporting an internal degraded status (BL860c)

In the output of the sysset command you can see the reason - different serial numbers and UUID.

Was the systemboard exchanged?

Normally with a brand new part the entries will be just copied, but if there is already a serial number set, you cannot change it.

Please ask HP support for help.

Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: Device is reporting an internal degraded status (BL860c)

Hi Torsten,

I have replaced the Mother Board from another server for minimized boot up time, but problem not solved. Also face another problem. So right now I have replace previous mother board. Shell "sysset" details in the attachment.

I have log a call to hp & try to solve this issue.

Re: Device is reporting an internal degraded status (BL860c)

The UUID is still different - this is the reason why the system complains.

Any news?

Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: Device is reporting an internal degraded status (BL860c)

Hi All,

The following problem has been solved by HP assistance. Main problem was UUID is invalid or different. I have follow the few stapes which is provided by hp then I have able to reset UUID. also systems DATE & TIME has been set from efi shell.
Shell>date [mm/dd/yyyy]
Shell>time [hh:mm:ss]

Thank you Torsten & thanks to ALL
