Difference between NICs and FlexNICs

Hi, Could anyone explain me The Difference between NICs and FlexNICs.?

Hello,

With the flexnics you can fine tune the bandwidth. You can for example specify that the NIC should get 3gigabit or 5 or something like that.

As Johan Writes but the main thing is that you need HP Virtual Connect or HP virtual Connect Flex10 to make use of the features if you don't and have for example a cisco switch the flex nic is used as a normal 1 gb NIC.

HP Virtual Connect (VC) Flex-10 technology is a hardware-based solution that lets you split a 10 Gb/s server network connection into four variable partitions. when connected to a non Flex environment the connection is seen as a 10Gb NIC
