Fibre Channel mezzanine card port mapping question
Juan Ruben had a quesiton with regard to mezz card port mapping:
*********************
I would like to know if a FC dual-port card installed in the mezz-2 slot of a BL460 can use ports 3,4 instead of ports 1,2. A customer has some blades with Ethernet dual-port card installed in mezz-2 (using 5 and 6 bays) and wants to use other BL460 blades with empty mezz-2 slot for FC (using bays 7 and 8 of the C7000).
************************************
Vincent answered his question:
***********************************
Not possible, mezz card to I/O bay paths are hard-wired on the midplane, you cannot have some blades with an Ethernet mezz card in mezz 2 and other blades with a FC mezz card in mezz 2 in the same enclosure
**********************************
Comments? Just remember your port mapping. If you need to be refreshed, look at the chassis QuickSpecs.
