GBE2 ethernet blade c-class server
i have a very serious concern in managening blade ethernet switch.i have c-class 7000 enclosure having ethernet switch.
1.how routing take place in each switch for 4 diffrent subnet masks.
As per doumentation i have seen 5 uplink ports in a switch can be configured with diffrent interface ips.
here one question why first uplink port is little aside from rest 4 uplink ports any reason??
i know its also an uplink port but why its little away from all other 4 uplink ports.
steps which i took are as given below
1.i have 4 blade server and on each blade server the nic1 is configured with ip address without default gateway.
2.i have configured 4 diffrent ips on 4 diffrent interfaces on switches.(wht interface 5 will use for as a seprate starting uplink port?)
3.now wht will be the default gateway on each blade server?will it be the interface ip?and if interface ip then wht ill be the default address for all uplink ports?
4.outside switch i have another switch with vlans configured which is used in production.
5.whts the complete correct procedure for using more then 2 subnets on same nic or more nics.
i have seen many documentation with scernerios but didnot get any satisfactory result.
kindly tell me depth information regarding the connecting for routing and using more then one ip on one nic on server
