GbE2c L2/L3 Not Capable of Doing Fibre Storage?
Hello,
We need to attach an external storage device (via LUN) to our BL460c servers inside of our c7000 enclosure. Everytime I try to connect a HP SFP to the back of the GbE2c L2/L3 switch it states "SR-SFP inserted at port 21 - SFP21 is UNAPPROVED ! SFP is DISABLED." even though the SFPs are HPs.
I saw in other posts that we need to procure a "Mezzanine Card" in order to have fibre storage connect to our c7000...is this true? Is there no way to use the fibre connectivity on the back of the GbE2c L2/L3 to connect to a fibre storage device?
Thanks you.

Re: GbE2c L2/L3 Not Capable of Doing Fibre Storage?
Thats because the GbE2c is a Network Switch and storage LUNS are connected via Storage Switches.
Fibre or Copper is just the communications link.
Network Fibre is not the same as SAN fibre.
