HP B-series 8/12c SAN Switch BladeSystem c-Class problem

Hello.

Have HP B-series 8/12c SAN Switch BladeSystem c-Class, blades in c7000 enc with QLogic QMH2562 8Gb FC HBA for HP BladeSystem c-Class.
On blade ESXi 4.1 update1 installed.

SAN Switch OS is 6.4.1b
HBA BIOS is 2.15.

After reboot of SAN Switch ports connected to blades become in G-Port state, and no devices visible trough that switch.
Only when I reboot blade, port become in F-Port state and I can see SAN devices.

Is any way to solve this problem?

That's a pretty annoying problem. Does it happen every time you reboot the SAN switch?
Do you boot from SAN or use local disks?
Do you only have ESXi 4.1 U1 blades? No other OS?

What about the firmware on the rest of the blade and the c-class enclosure?
I mean OA module, iLO and BIOS? Are they up to date/in a supported set?

Do you have only one switch in the c7000? If you have two, do you see the same behavior for both?

In which interconnect bay do you have the B-series 8/12c?

Yes

Use local disk for ESXi, on SAN VMs virtual disks.

All is up to date.

Have 2 switches, problem with both.

Bay 3 and 4.


I changed speed in HBA form auto to 4gbit, and then problem disappears. If I set 8gbit, problem returns.

What is and was it set to on the switch?

Maybe fixed to 8g on both works? or auto on both?

Auto on HBA and switch - problem exists
Hard 8 gbit on both - problem exists
