HP Blade bl460c G7 problem with emulex NIC
i have bl460c G7 in a c7000 enclosure with cisco catalyst switch 3020 for HP, i installed windows server 2008 R2 on the server, and the NIC card is emulex, so when i tried to add an IP address it doesnt took it, but rather it take the ip address 169.,,, the default one, but when i tried the ip address on different blade on the enclosure with windows 2003 it works, so please can you tell me where's the problem ? and how to solve it.
Thanks

Who are these 'vivit'?
Patch/update driver/firmware on the card. Which model?
169.254.*.* usually comes when the card is set to DHCP and there's no response/available addresses.

Server forum.
Yeah sure. Maybe you need to update that.
So with the flexfabric, any changes you can do on the flexfabric module?

Re: HP Blade bl460c G7 problem with NC553i NIC
I saw this in another chat area. Maybe it can help.
Current revision on hp.com is 12.2(58)SE1.
You need to have at least 12.2.46 or 12.2.50 to be able to upgrade to 12.2.58.
Here is the command you need to do the upgrade:
Switch# archive download-sw /overwrite /reload tftp:[[//location]/directory]/image-name.tar
Example:
Switch# archive download-sw /overwrite tftp://198.30.20.19/cbs30x0lanbase-mz
Hope this helps.

Dennis: I'd seen it around one a lot of 1-post accounts so I wondered what it was.
Another post was created on this topic here: http://h30499.www3.hp.com/t5/HP-BladeSystem-Server-Blades/HP-Blade-bl460c-G7-problem-with-NC553i-NIC/m-p/5335167#M301
