HP VC 8Gb 24-port FC reports Incompatible in VCM

I replaced 4Gb FC modules with 8GB. I updated the firmware with the 2.33 package (FC 1.01 v6.1.0_36) using vcsu. Reported that it worked successfully. VCM shows errors indicating it is still 4Gb VC FC modules and reporting incompatible state. I already tried resetting the VC Flex-10. What do I need to do to get VCM to see the new modules? I am managing with VCEM so will need to exit maintenance mode to restore environment but I want to know why VCM still doesn't see the correct VC FC modules and how to fix this.

VCM remembers the old modules that were previously installed. I believe you need to remove the 4Gb uplink ports from the defined SAN fabrics, unseat the 8Gb modules, then in VCM, under Hardware Overview-> Interconnect bays, click on "Remove from Domain".

Once you have done that, you can re-insert the 8Gb modules and they will be recognized as such and you can add their uplink ports to your SAN Fabrics.
