HP VC versus Cisco 3120 on c7000 for ESX

Hello,

I was wondering if anyone has done a comparision of the performance of HP virtual connect versus the Cisco 3120 (both sold by HP) as the networking backend for an ESX cluster hosted on a bladesystem c7000?

At a first glance, the HP VC works on layer 2, where as the Cisco 3120 works on layer 3. The theoretical performance of the 3120 is higher, however I am not sure whether ESX takes advantage of this.

thanks,
-Ravi

Have You seen this ?

http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bc/docs/support/SupportManual/c01386629/c01386629.pdf

It does not compare these two interconnects but says that when using VC there is no performance loss.
