HP c-Class Blade Ssytem

Hi,
For c-Class blade, can I join additional blades server “Processor/Memory” resources to existing server? What I mean is if my existing BL460 server overloaded, I can standby a 2rd or 3rd Blade and let it share the Processor and Memory load. Something like join a new server into existing pool of servers.

Hi Heero

There are no facilities available on c or p Series blades to interconnect servers to pool resources. I assume you are thinking in terms of IBM pSeries servers where you join CPU units together and distribute memory and CPU over virtual partition. Similar functionality from HP exists in the form of nPars and hPars but only on the highend rx (Integrity) and rp (PA-RISC) servers running HP-UX only. The only other option is to use VMWARE but I am not sure if you can yet run a virual servers over multiple platforms.
