High Availibility - Clustered Environment

I have to design a solution where we would be requiring 2 c7000 or c3000 having 7 replica servers each, the environment should have SAN as well. What actually we would be requiring a clustered environment with active/active status, the redundant servers are in high availability state in the 2 enclosures. The SAN would also contain a backup library as well. Please suggest how this would be possible if we would be having different flavours of operating system(like windows, rhel etc)

You specify the servers.. Clustering is done at the application level. Are you talking about Oracle Active Active in a Oracle RAC configuration with a Cluster File System (CFS).

The application and services you want to make highly available with clustering is what you need to consider.

A common HA HPUX Unix environment is Oracle RAC with CFS for the clustered storage using disk arrays in a active active RAC environment.

Re: High Availibility - Clustered Environment

okay so what we need to look for is the cluster aware applications, the clustering would be possible by having set of redundant path of SAN switch and network switch. we would be requiring two pass through modules in each chassis terminated to 2 external switches, two SAN switches connected to MSA2000fc dual array controllers and a backup library MSL2024 connected to SAN Switch with online backup agents.
