We have a Enclosure C3000 in that we have 6 blades Server and for that 5 SMPS connected to the Enclosure .
Our requirement is to configure the power supply in some way, so that the unused SMPS can be disconnected.
The Blades have been placed in order : bay 1 to 6.
Please suggest.
Thanks

Re: How to Minimize the Power Supply to The Blades Server
The C3000 enclosure is already optimized to minimize power consumption. It does not as far as I know make any difference the layout of the blades.
The C3000 should have redundant power supplies to insure power should one power supply fail. To pull or disable one of these power supplies would be ill advised.
You should not do it.
My advice is not to touch the unit. It was designed to minimize power consumption and maximize reliability.

Re: How to Minimize the Power Supply to The Blades Server
If you disconnect the spare power supplies, your blades may crash in the event of power supply failure, as there may not be enough power to run them all.

Solutionsince this is c 3000 enclosure it has beenFor AC redundant (N+N power supplies) configurations, an
even number of power supplies is required. For this
configuration, where N is the number of power supplies being
used, populate the power supply bays as shown.
N + N Populate the following power supply bays
1 + 1 1 and 4
2 + 2 1, 2, 4, and 5
3 + 3 Populate all bays
For power supply redundant (N+1 power supplies)
configurations, where N is the number of power supplies being
used, populate the power supply bays as shown.
N + 1 Populate the following power supply bays
1 + 1 1 and 4
2 + 1 1, 4, and 2
3 + 1 1, 4, 2, and 5
4 + 1 1, 4, 2, 5, and 3
5 + 1 Populate all bays
the OA that will automatically switch off the rest power supply
