How to configure HP Virtual Connect 4Gb FC Module
Hi All,
we have recently purchased a BLC3000 and populated this with:
1 x GbE2c Ethernet Blade Switch in interconnect 1
2 x HP Virtual Connect 4Gb FC Module in interconnect 3 and 4.
I have a mix of BL460C, BL465C, BL280C and BL495C blades with 6 of the 8 using QLogic QMH2462 4Gb FC HBA for HP c-Class BladeSystem in mezzanine 2 so that they map to the ports on the Virtual Connect FC modules.
My problem is that I have no idea how to make my blade HBAs visible to my HP 4/16 Fibre Switch and then to my EVA4400 SAN.
It looks like I need to do something to make the HBA ports active? When I telnet to the switch and run show port I get:
VCFCMY58440117 #> show port

Re: How to configure HP Virtual Connect 4Gb FC Module
You need a VC Ethernet module of some type instead of the GbE2c switch. The VC Manager lives on the Ethernet module.

Re: How to configure HP Virtual Connect 4Gb FC Module
Hi,
As Mr.David said, with only VC FC modules you can't manage. You need to have 2 VC Ethernet modules so that by using VC Manager you can manage the VC FC Modules.

Re: How to configure HP Virtual Connect 4Gb FC Module
Thanks for your help guys - I have ordered two non-virtual connect fibre channel switches.
