Installing 2nd GbE2c switch.

Hello

Any issues i might need to know before installing a 2nd GbE2c switch on a C7000 blade enclosure.

Using 1 vlan - default setting on current switch.

2nd Switch will only be used for redundancy at this time.

Thanks

Hello Dave,

AFAIK there is nothing important for you. You should configure teaming on the blade-servers to assure that a failover will work. You need additional uplinks for the second switch to your core.

Re: Installing 2nd GbE2c switch.

You may have to enable internal stacking links 17 and 18 if you want to interconnect the two Gbe2c toghether and permit blade to talk each other from odd to even nics (can occour when using teaming w/failover for example).

BUT remember: ensure you have spanning tree working on your network and Gbe2cs to avoid problems.
