Logging on to OA if you don't know the subnet mask?

The OA's are maintained by the customer on our site, and sometimes it's hard to find the right person who knows what the IP details are to log in to the OA. I know that you can get the IP address off the front panel. But if the customer changes the subnet mask, how can I find out what they changed that to, so I can then access the OA?

Not sure why you need the mask if you want to logon ... but ASAIR it is shown on the panel too.

Hope this helps!

You can use the enclosure link ports at service ports.

Even so, the subnet mask is accessible from the front panel. You just need to drill a little further...

In Enclosure Settings --> OA1 IPv4 --> OA1 IPv4 --> Static --> .

Re: Logging on to OA if you don't know the subnet mask?

Well, if you know the IP-address then you can set a "large" subnet mask when you direct connect.. Like if the IP is 10.2.2.2 you could try to set a 255.0.0.0 subnet for example and as long as you have a 10.x IP you should be fine. BUt yeah, look in the front panel you can find the IP settings there :)

Re: Logging on to OA if you don't know the subnet mask?

Do you know if you need to set a gateway as well to get on or can for instance use
IP Address 192.168.200.211
Subnet Mask 255.0.0.0
Gateway blank

Re: Logging on to OA if you don't know the subnet mask?

You do not need a gateway if you are directly connected, or connected on the same network switch, or on thesame vlan.

A gateway is only needed if there is a router (or routed vlans, etc) between where you are connected and where the OA is connected. I.E. Different IP subnets..
