Max RAM on BL460c G1
We are looking to upgrade the RAM in a batch of BL460c blades. They currently have 2GB DIMMs in each slot. I originally thought the max RAM was 32 GB, but now Quickspecs (http://h18004.www1.hp.com/products/quickspecs/12518_na/12518_na.html) and the Crucial.com advisor states that 64 GB is the max (48 GB with 120w CPUs).
So will 8GB DIMMs work on a BL460c (purchased Aug. 2007) with dual Xeon X5355 CPUs (120w)
The plan is to put 4 new 8 GB DIMMs in and keep 4 of the 2 GBs.
Product Name ProLiant BL460c G1
Part Number 435459-B21
Spare Part Number 410299-001

Re: Max RAM on BL460c G1
I'm not finding a 8 GB DIMM for this blade server model, there is a 4 GB DIMM.
Still searching, will post back.

Re: Max RAM on BL460c G1
I see these part numbers:
16 GB FBD PC2-5300 (2 x 8 GB) Kit 413015-B21
64 GB FBD PC2-5300 (8 x 8 GB) Kit 495604-B21
Obviously the 64 GB kit, if ordered, would be split between 2 servers.

Re: Max RAM on BL460c G1
495604-B21 is the correct part number for those BL460c blades that support 64 GB RAM (do require processors running 80w and not 120w, see QuickSpecs for the BL460c)
Options:
2 x 8GB DIMM package: 413015-B21 16 GB total
8 x 8GB DIMM package: 495604-B21 64 GB total
