Monitoring BladeSystem c7000 or ProLiant BL460c G1

Hello.
I have BladeSystem c7000 with c7000 Onboard Administrator and pack of ProLiant BL460c G1 (with w2k3-8) installed.

I need to monitor at least temperature/fan parameters from bladesystem or from servers with our corporate monitoring system.

So, i can use snmp, windows perfmon counters or some kind of scripts.
I enable snmp on OnboardAdministrator, but it doesn't show this parameters through snmp.
I try to enable snmp on Proliant iLO, but it seems don't have snmp at all.

And this is a questions - how i can monitor bladesystem status.

If You have just one blade enclosure ? You can monitor temp/power/thermal/etc. from OA GUI.

for more detailed monitoring use HP Systems insight manager. It's free.

No, at this time i have two bladesystem.
And no, i don't nees to "look", i need to monitor.

That means: monitoring software collect some data from entire network and alert if something reach limit.

AND

I don't need another one "little software for every few servers", we have already installed monitoring system, that already do a mass work and monitor entire network.
So i just need way to get parameters from this bladesystem.

install HP insight agents to Windows servers and config SNMP service from Windows to sent traps to Your monitoring system.

BTW
single ILO can send SNMP traps too if the _application_ can understand SNMP

Ok, it's no very good sollution, but it can help.
I try to use inside agents.

insight agents are _mandatory_, if You want to have detailed HW monitoring from Proliant servers.

But I still want to recommend the HP SIM for testing at least =)

Hi Eugeny,

I agree with Jarkko but I want to add another option. You can pull this information from a telnet/SSH session to the OA using the commands:

SHOW ENCLOSURE FAN (all / #)
SHOW ENCLOSURE POWERSUPPLY (all / #)
SHOW ENCLOSURE TEMP
SHOW ENCLOSURE STATUS

In the past I have created a scheduled task to poll this information every 5 minutes and send an email to my pager if the results contained "degraded" or a temperature went over a threshhold. Scripting SSH commands is not difficult, a good utility to use is PLINK (command-line PuTTY.)

yes, i see all parameters in ssh session, but check "interactive" trough some script, not very good sollution..
