We recently had a problem where our complete Chasis froze because of firmware mismatch with redundant on board admin. But the problem started showing hours before the chasis completely froze. It was apparent in VCmodule.log, OA.log etc.
So my question: is there a way I can add log monitoring on OA. Does OA support perl? We would prefer to send SNMP trap when such error occur in the log. for eg::
2010-03-29T22:16:49-07:00 VCEFTP vcmd: [PRO:blaprd01:6013:Minor] Profile state DEGRADED : Component partially operational, but capacity lost

Re: Monitoring logs in c7000 on board adminstrator
But how do I configure SNMP such that errors in OA.log and VCmodule.log and other logs gets sent as a trap.
for eg what need to be configured to send a trap:
2010-03-29T22:16:49-07:00 VCEFTP vcmd: [PRO:blaprd01:6013:Minor] Profile state DEGRADED : Component partially operational, but capacity lost

Oh yeah and also configure SNMP in the Virtual Connect Manager:
Domain Settings -> SNMP Configuration
I can't guarantee that exactly this error message will be sent as a SNMP trap. Maybe open a case with HP to try to get this confirmed.
