NC326M, Virtual Connect, No Network

We've added additional NIC's into our BL460C's ... the NC326m. I've found that these NIC's cannot get onto the network. All firmware up to date and latest PSP install. NIC's look fine in Windows. I've gone into virtual connect and put the NC326m NIC's onto the same network as the onboard NIC's ... saved the profile and started up the server. Still no joy. Any ideas?

Re: NC326M, Virtual Connect, No Network

How many VC ethernet modules You have ??? In Virtual connect You have same mezzazine card-interconnect module mapping as in "normal" lan/san switches.

With only two modules, it won't work

We've 4 ethernet modules in bays 1,2,5 and 6. FC in 3 and 4.

I believe so but, not being a HP VC expert, I can't be 100% sure. Given the circumstances, I wouldn't be surprised if they aren't.

Re: NC326M, Virtual Connect, No Network

...because according your interconnect bays You should have the extra NICs in mezz slot2 in your blades. And the SAN HBAs in mezz1

Re: NC326M, Virtual Connect, No Network

The problem was down to the installation engineer not communicating effectivly.

The problem was that our Cisco switches were presenting 4 ports (1 cable to each of the 4 VC's) in a single ether channel set. We broke that out into 4 ether channels and then we had some life.
