OnBoard Administrator problem

Hello
I have a BL860c. Inserted into a c7000 enclosure and I manage these items with OnBoard Administrator version 3.21. When I highlight the BL860c and click on the tab that says "Information" under the "Server Host Name" it says Status is not availilable why????

Has the blade every powered up? The information is populated as a result of a successful POST.

Re: OnBoard Administrator problem

Hi Ross.
I have been running OpenVMS on bl860c blades for ~3 years now, and I have never been able to see the Hostname in the OA. I get the same information as you described.

I investigated at the time, and made little progress. All that I could determine from the various sources was that in addition to there being a fundamental difference between Proliant and Itanium blades, and there is a strong dependency on the OS that you are running.

IIRC, the host name could be set up on bl860c's, but (and again, my memories are not fully reliable here) I think it didn't survive a power cycle or reboot, or something, which made it not worth bothering with.

Aesthetically its annoying, but there is no other effect.

Dave.
