Onboard administrator failover

Does anyone know what failures will trigger a failover to the nonactive OA.

I assume hardware failures are the norm but what about the network link going down.

What triggers a return the redundant OA to the default OA.

Thanks

Re: Onboard administrator failover

Hi,

if both OAs are running the sameFw version (2.20 or higher) there is an option called Link Loss failover.

It is under Enclosure settings. There you can set a time after which it is switched to the redundant OA.

Then not 100% sure but if connection returns to the old primary OA(normally bay 1), there is NO auto failover again.

The old OA becomes active only if :

- the standby loses its link
OR
-you initiate a manual failover from "Active to Standby" under Enclosure settings.
