PDU / Enclosure Power Data.
This may seem to be a bit of a odd question... I've recently accquired a large number of blades (c-class) and I've been running some reporting from my HP PDU's (60amp 3phase) versus the thermal / power report on the enc's themselves. What I'm finding is that my PDU's report usages at about 5.5kW, where as for the same time period the enc's report about 6.1kW? What the small difference... is this because my PDU's are 3phase, where as the blades are getting 1phase power delivered to them? Rob

PDU / Enclosure Power Data.
Rob, Was the pps a capture of the data? it is no longer at the Link. The enclosure power measurement has been very accurate, although I've never seen anyone actually get the chassis power that high before. What blades and CPUs are you using. I'll find out the PDU report accuracy...

PDU / Enclosure Power Data.
There's a million detailed reasons for the difference but I'd always side with the worst case scenario - better to accept that then blow a PDU spur :) Phil.
