ProLiant BL460c G1 - BSOD Stop 0x00000077

all our BL460c G1 seems to want to BlueScreen every month or so with:

Blue Screen Trap (BugCheck, STOP: 0x00000077 (0xC000000E, 0xC000000E, 0x00000000, 0x00C78000))

this seems to be caused buy the paging file disk disappearing.

Our setup 2 x Qlogic QMH2462 4Gb FC HBA with 4.03.02 FW, these offer the System Drive C: and a Data Drive E: on the EVA/SAN. The page file resides on a mirrored local drive connected to the E200i controller with 1.84 FW.

OS is Windows 2003R2 SP2
HP Insight Management Agents for Windows Server 2003/2008 8.26.0.0
HP ProLiant Smart Array SAS/SATA Controller Driver for Windows Server 2003 6.14.0.32
HP StorageWorks Fibre Channel Adapter Kit for the x86 QLogic Storport Driver 1.7.1.1

No memory.dmp available due to no page file on system drive ( and if it was as its a SAN disk it would not be able to write to it anyway )

Thanks

Re: ProLiant BL460c G1 - BSOD Stop 0x00000077

run disk check on local drive with hp diagnostics off line too
does local disk have amber led ...+predictive failture

get its model number
go hp.com

get latest firmware for disk especially it its on fw 1 or 2, these sas disks should be on at least firmware family 5 range

Re: ProLiant BL460c G1 - BSOD Stop 0x00000077

I think you have already figured out the cause of the BSOD i.e. 0xC000000E which says STATUS_NO_SUCH_DEVICE: the drive went unavailable, possibly a bad hard drive, disk array, and/or controller card

I would update the disk firmware first to see if it helps. The SAS disk latest firmware is HPDA available to download at http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareDescription.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodTypeId=329290&prodSeriesId=3883890&swItem=MTX-f9cf742e4e3946d99c5972a12a&prodNameId=3883931&swEnvOID=1005&swLang=13&taskId=135&mode=3

If it's doesn't help, then I would log a h/w call with HP support to check if this is an issue with the controller E200i or its firmware.

Thanks, we have now setup the ils to record the BDSO, so to hopefully offer a bit more info on the issue, now we need to wait for it to happen again.

Re: ProLiant BL460c G1 - BSOD Stop 0x00000077

Hi Guys,

same problem here.

- bl460c
- 2003 R2 SP2

- boot from san
- local pagefile
- bsod and stop 0x77 (system is loosing the local hdd and it can't read the pagefile)

Is there any solution for this problem? or an idea?

Please help!
