Question regarding a Blade BL35P server
I was very fortunate to purchase a new Blade server, less hard disk drive recently that was very reasonably priced. This is the first Blade in the company as all the other servers are Proliant DL's and ML's. My question is:
I have received the server as a stand alone item. I want to be able to use it so what other bits do I need as a minimum to make it work. Do I need to buy an enclosure to put it in and if so what is the smallest and cheapest option? Do I just need to buy an adapter cable that connects the power up to the unit? I don't want to run anymore Blades other than this one initially. Longer term we may buy more but for the moment I want to get this one up and running. I have no understanding of the Blade server infrastructure and would appreciate any help that you may have to offer.
Thank you

Re: Question regarding a Blade BL35P server
Hi Allan,
To use this server, you would need a BladeSystem p-class enclosure. There are only two variants for the p-class enclosure - p-class server blade enclosure & p-class server blade "enhanced" enclosure.
You can read more about the enclosure & Blade Server compatibility at:
http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/Document.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&objectID=c00868076&jumpid=reg_R1002_USEN
You should be able to find the price using the part number (mentioned in the link).
Cheers!
