Raid 10 with C-Class blades

We are a client that is wanting to use a Raid 10 configuration. We are currently wanting to have all of our clients switch to a C-class environment. Is it possible to do with a full height blade and the storage enclosure?

Yes, you can RAID with RAID 1 + 0

See quickspec page at http://h18004.www1.hp.com/products/quickspecs/12587_div/12587_div.HTML

Thanx

Re: Raid 10 with C-Class blades

RAID10 aka RAID 1+0 is going to require 4 disks minimum to configure, so that rules out half-height blades unless you attach the storage blade to each half-height blade.

Given the cost of storage blades and disks and the reduction in chassis space I would look at attaching a SAN (MSA1000/MSA1500 are great) to a blade system as its much more ideal.

Higher performance, higher reliability, higher capacity and better utilization of disk space.
Of course the cost is higher as well :)

RAID 1+0 is accomplished with 2 drives on SmartArray controllers by providing the redundancy of RAID 1 mirroring with the performance of RAID 0 striping.

Thanks everyone. We purchased the storage blade to accomplish what we needed.
