All,
I need to reset the iLO name on the HP Blade server and also the password while the HP Blade server BL465c G8 and 7 are still online.
is it possible to reset the iLO information only remotely from my head office without causing server reboot or any outage ?

Re: Resetting iLO console information concerns
Thanks Renjiv,
does it cause any server outage ?
this is a production server that I cannot afford to be down 24x7.

Re: Resetting iLO console information concerns
Albert,
Resetting iLO will cause all active iLO connetions to be unavailable till the reset is complete. It will not cause outage to the server.

Cool, thanks for the clarification. I can do this from the iLO web console then during the working hours.

You can change the ILO name online, it needs a reboot (without impact to OS) after this.
Usually the blade ILO has no password set, the login is certificate based from the blade enclosure OA.
If set, you can change it any time online.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: Resetting iLO console information concerns
Ok, so if I want to reset the Administrator password, do I have to reboot the Blade and then press F8 ?

Re: Resetting iLO console information concerns
Go to the ILO page, select Administration -> User Administration and select Edit.
As said, usually not needed for blades.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.
