Can I combine a SB40C storage blade with 300GB HDD (SAS) 10k?

I don't think so as it looks like 146GB is the max according to the quickspecs.

AFAIK, you cannot.
SB40c support only 2.5" SAS, and 300 GB SAS currently exists only as 3.5"
