so what is the best way to scale storage within an HP blade system Chasis without requiring external storage Arrays

I've seen several example pictures of an EVA in a c7000 but the product is not yet released. It seems to be new controller blades using SB40c drive chassis as the drive shelves. It may not be compatible with Server Blades in the same chassis.

If you are OK with NAS storage then you can buy the AiO600 which is a BL460/SB40c bundled together as a single part number running MS Storage Server.

A single SB40C will only offer 1.8TB at most and if you enable RAID 1 you will only have access to 900GB; not sufficient. I wish it were possible to have at least two SB40C per blade that would be a nice scale for a medium enterprise having all your storage within your Blade System Chasis
