Single Interface for multiple Enclosures

I have 4 C7000 Enclosures that I administer. Currently I bring up 4 different web connections to each HP BladeSystem Onboard Administrator.

Is there a way to have one web page that sees all 4 of my enclosures or a way to make each enclosure see the others?

Re: Single Interface for multiple Enclosures

Hi.

You need to "link" the enclosures (maximum 4), and they should officially be installed in the same rack.

Look at the Enclosure Link Connections located between the two OA's on the rear of the enclosure.

The two sockets are used as follows

1. The Right socket on the top enclosure is kept open for connecting laptop, etc.

2. On each enclosure, the left socket connects to the right socket on the enclosure below.

and so on to the 4th. On the bottom enclosure, the left socket is empty.

When this is done, then a web connection to any of the OA's will display all of the linked enclosures on the login screen (with an option to "Select All")

Beware, if you select all (or even more than one), then there will be a significant increase in the time it takes to login since all of the information from all of the selected Enclosures will have to be imported.

Give it a try.

Dave.

Re: Single Interface for multiple Enclosures

dumb question. Do I use a cross over cable or standard cable?

Standard (I would use Cat 5/6)
