Slowness when using Citrix or TS

I have a HP 7000 enclosure, with is Proliant Blade 460c.
I have installed windows 2003 sp1 and citrix presentation 4.5 ( it is based on Terminal service). the problem is that all the resources seem very well, whereas , even if only 1 user is logged in , the user feel a delay in openning/moving any window/file.

My troubleshooting is leading that it may be caused by allocating memory to vga, or something like that

I will appreciate any help.

Re: Slowness when using Citrix or TS

Hello,
I dont see why Citrix presentation 4.5 will not work with win2k3 sp2 ! win2k3 sp2 has been released quite sometime back. try updating.
Also, assuming that all firmwares & PSP is up-to-date.

Regards.

Re: Slowness when using Citrix or TS

Did you ever try it in a G5 server? Because the c-Class blades have multifunction NICs and the TOE sometimes causes very strange problems. Try to disable it with this command:
netsh int ip set chimney DISABLED

Re: Slowness when using Citrix or TS

HI,
In fact i just tried citrix on DL380 g3 and G4

Can you please advise about the commmand line, as it is not working:
netsh interface ip set chimney DISABLED

it seems chimney does not exist in the "set" objects

Thanks

Re: Slowness when using Citrix or TS

In SP1 the networking changes are not implemented... So i think that it is not the issue...

Is only the citrix performing slowly?
How much ram do you have?

About the allocation - do you use a PAE switch in the boot.ini? Can you try with a worse screen resolution?

Re: Slowness when using Citrix or TS

You need to tell us more about your c7000 network configuration and how you're setting up your Windows networking.

Are you using Virtual Connect or edge switches?

Are you using NIC teaming in Windows?

Lots of variables. We're doing network testing of our c7000 config as well and it aint simple!

Re: Slowness when using Citrix or TS

Hi ron.
they are directly connected to the Coreswitch "cisco 6500"
we are not using windows teaming
the second ethernet is disabled.

THanks
