Swapping disks to different Bl860C with similar configuration

Hi,

Want to know whether swapping of disks with HPUX 11iV3 with similar hardware is supported if so.When tried to swap both the drives to the other server the server would not boot and in the EFI we are unable to find anything in the map -r device mapping table. What are the steps advised in this situation.

Re: Swapping disks to different Bl860C with similar configuration

Did you configure the disks to be a integrated mirror (hardware based)?

Go into the controller setup and check if the RAID is deactivated. Activate if needed.

Example:

Shell> drivers
T D
D Y C I
R P F A
V VERSION E G G #D #C DRIVER NAME IMAGE NAME
== ======== = = = == == =================================== ===================
16 00000020 B - - 6 17 PCI Bus Driver PciBus
23 02010400 D X X 1 - LSI Logic Fusion MPT SAS Driver PciROM:02:01:00:001
...

Shell> drvcfg -s 23
Set Configuration Options
...

Note: in tis example the driver number is 23. This will be probably different on your system.

Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: Swapping disks to different Bl860C with similar configuration

Tried the options mentioned but the drives were not visible so we had to backup the information using IGNITE Backup using the command make_tape_recovery to have the bootable tape and swap the systems which worked.

Issue Resolved...Thanks
