Re: Trouble with using DVD drive in Blade enclosure

If you have bent Pins there are more chances you see these kind of problems.
For that you need to remove the OA Tray and check the Connector PINS. Make sure the Pins on the back of OA Tray are Not bent.

Re: Trouble with using DVD drive in Blade enclosure

Thanks again for the reply. I already updated both iLO and OA to the latest firmware update. I'm away from the account right now, but plan on checking the pins on the OA tomorrow. I hope that's it. This is a tough bug.

Is the OA tray hot pluggable in the enclosure?

Re: Trouble with using DVD drive in Blade enclosure

Well, I fixed the problem. All symptoms seemed to point to the OA, which I had reseated before, but this time I pulled it out for a few minutes to check the pins on it, and really reseated good and solid. After that, the DVD drive works like a charm. Thanks to all for your help. I'll remember this one, when in doubt, reseat the OA.

Re: Trouble with using DVD drive in Blade enclosure

Dear all,

i'm too new with Blades and i have the same issue that Steven. Sadly, after unplugg the OA and wait for 5 minutes, the dvd drive doesn't works. I unplugged the OA after shutdown the Blade. I think it is correct but someone, could clarify if the OA in hot-plugg or not ?

Regards.
