Trusted Platform Module (TPM) hardware supports for BitLocker ?

Hi People,

I wonder if the current HP Blade BL 460c G8  servers supports the TPM feature so that I can enable the Windows Server 2012 VMware Virtual Machine the secure Bit Locker Data Encryption feature.

Thanks.

Best regards,

Re: Trusted Platform Module (TPM) hardware supports for BitLocker ?

I can see that from this page, the HP Blade comes with the TPM chip on board by default: http://h18001.www1.hp.com/products/quickspecs/14208_na/14208_na.pdf

is it going to work for the Virtual Machine to recognize the card ?

Greetings,

Not all Hp servers for different generations comes with TPM embedded, you should have requested it while purchasing your server.

But any how, you can simply go to your server Bios and check if the TPM feature is available or not, from which you can enable or disable

The TPM module is an option, from page 46 of the quickspec you've provided

HP Trusted Platform Module Option 488069-B21

Here is a link for more information http://h18004.www1.hp.com/products/servers/proliantstorage/module.html

As far as a VM accessing the module, the 2 minutes I spent with google the answer appears to be no, but this is something I'm not familiar with.
