USB Drive in C7000 in Enclosure DVD USB

Hi

I had a thought to put a USB-Drive in the Enclosure DVD USB port of the C7000 with the firmware maintenance DVD on. Instead of booting over ILO, wich is very slow.

Is it possible or does the port only recognise the HP DVD RW drive wich is an option for the C7000?

Re: USB Drive in C7000 in Enclosure DVD USB

After testing this with a bootable USB Firmware maintenance DVD made with HP USB creator. I can say it's not working.

firmware 3.11 and 3.21 only has the option of disconnecting the DVD/ISO from blade. And previous firmware versions does'nt give me any menu at all.

It seems i can only mount ISO's from a USB memory attatched to the OA USB port.

Anyone got a good method for editing the firmware maitenance DVD ISO and add new patches and retain the image bootable?

Yes.

It must be an ISO.

Put the ISO in the root of you usb mem.stick.
And mount it.
It will be an one time boot.
