Unable to connect to BL460c G6 via KVM cable

Hello

I'm having problems connecting to a BL460c G6 blade via a KVM cable because the blade is not detecting the keyboard (or usb). This was ok earlier and is working ok on other blades. in the same rack. The problem occured after the blade was restarted via our RHEL5 platform. We had a similar problem on a G8 blade yesterday, but this cleared after a further restart. We've tried this twice today and done a hard reset on the front of blade., but the problem remains. Has anyone any ideas what has caused this and how to clear it?

Regards

Chris

Re: Unable to connect to BL460c G6 via KVM cable

I have USB issues from time to time with BL servers. This is what helped me sometimes:

- Connect your keyboard to the other USB connector. This forces the OS to re-recognise the KB.
- Clean the KVM port of the blade and also the adapter connector (dust accumulates after some time)
- Try another adapter
- Try a different keyboard
- Wait 2..3 minutes. Sometimes the servers need some time to recognise new hardware.

Re: Unable to connect to BL460c G6 via KVM cable

I assume you are using the front connector. Sometime this connector doesn't "click" while connecting, so the connections doesn't really work.

If you have the KVM OA module, why not connecting the KVM to the OA?

So you can use it with all blades.

Hope this helps!
